Softball Game Preview: Donna North Chiefs vs. Rivera Raiders

Donna North hasn't had much luck against Rivera recently, but that could start to change on Friday. The Donna North Chiefs will welcome the Rivera Raiders at 5:30 p.m. Donna North has given up an average of 13.2 runs per game this season, so hopefully the team got some pitching drills in this week.

Donna North is headed into Friday's contest looking for a big change in momentum after dropping their fourth straight game on Tuesday. They came up short against Mercedes, falling 22-1.

Meanwhile, after soaring to 17 runs the game before, Rivera was a bit more limited in their match on Tuesday. They fell just short of Porter by a score of 3-2.

Danna Ramirez put in work while hitting and pitching. She looked comfortable on the mound, striking out 13 batters over 6.2 innings while giving up just one earned (and two unearned) runs off three hits. She has been consistent recently: she hasn't given up more than one earned run in three consecutive appearances. She was also big at the plate, getting on base in all three of her plate appearances with one RBI.

Ramirez wasn't the only one making solid contact as two players wound up with at least one hit. One of them was Dezaray Banda, who scored a run while going 1-for-3. Banda also put up a double, which was her first of the season.

Rivera has been struggling recently as they've lost five of their last six games. That's put a noticeable dent in their 3-8 record this season. Donna North's defeat dropped their record down to 2-7.
