Baseball Game Preview: Hialeah Educational Academy Biggie vs. South Dade Buccaneers

The Hialeah Educational Academy Biggie will face off against the South Dade Buccaneers at 6:00 p.m. on Wednesday.

Hialeah Educational Academy managed to slip by Miami Springs the last time these teams faced off, but didn't have those same answers this time around. Hialeah Educational Academy came up short against Miami Springs on Wednesday, falling 8-1.

JEREMIAH ACOSTA was a force to be reckoned with on the mound despite the final result: he tossed 4.1 innings while giving up just two earned runs off three hits.

At the plate, Hialeah Educational Academy saw three different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was BRIAN BOLANOS, who scored a run while going 1-for-3.

Meanwhile, while South Dade put up some runs on Wednesday, the same can't be said for Downtown Doral. South Dade put the hurt on Downtown Doral with a sharp 10-0 win. The victory made it back-to-back wins for the Buccaneers.

Jovanni Orta tossed a big game, not allowing a single earned run and allowed only one hit over five innings pitched. He also tossed no earned runs, which is notable because South Dade is undefeated when he allows at most one earned run, but 6-10 otherwise.

On the hitting side, the team relied heavily on Jonel Lluveras, who scored two runs and stole two bases while going 1-for-2. Those two stolen bases gave him a new career-high. Luis Alejandro Mora was another key player, scoring two runs and stealing a base while going 1-for-2.

South Dade always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .577. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Downtown Doral only posted an OBP of .118.

South Dade's victory bumped their record up to 9-10. As for Hialeah Educational Academy, their defeat dropped their record down to 7-10.
