Basketball Recap: Village Academy Comes Up Short

Village Academy was not able to break out of their rough patch on Wednesday as the team picked up their 34th straight loss dating back to last season. They had to suffer through a 59-24 loss at the hands of the Leonard Lancers. The Tigers were probably out for revenge after losing 79-35 to them when the teams met back in January of 2024, then they'll just have to keep looking.

Leonard's victory was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Daniel Exantus, who went 6 of 11 en route to 13 points. The dominant performance gave Exantus a new career-high in points. The team also got some help courtesy of Lovinske Louis, who posted four points in addition to seven rebounds and four steals.

Village Academy's defeat dropped their record down to 0-12. As for Leonard, the win snapped their losing streak at three games and leaves them with a 4-12 record.

Village Academy didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next matchup, an 88-20 loss against FAU High on the 24th. As for Leonard, they also wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next contest, a 67-48 defeat against Boynton Beach on the 24th.
