The Coal City Coalers will venture away from home to face off against the Streator Bulldogs at 4:30 p.m. on Thursday. Coal City is strutting in with some offensive muscle as they've averaged 3.7 goals per game this season.

Coal City is likely headed into the match with a focus on the second half, which is when things went downhill against Lisle on Tuesday. The Coalers fell just short of the Lions by a score of 2-1. The loss was Coal City's first of the season.

Their goal came courtesy of Ava Meyer, which was the first she's scored this season.

Meanwhile, Streator kept a clean sheet against Illinois Valley Central on Wednesday. They blew past the Grey Ghosts 7-0.

Having lost for the first time this season, Coal City fell to 5-1-1. As for Streator, their victory (their first of the season) made their record 1-2.

Everything went Coal City's way against Streator in their previous matchup back in April of 2024, as Coal City made off with a 4-1 win. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Coalers since the team won't have the home-pitch advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
