Baseball Game Preview: Clover Hill Cavaliers vs. Cosby Titans

The Clover Hill Cavaliers will face off against the Cosby Titans at 5:00 p.m. on Thursday.

Clover Hill is headed into the match having just suffered their biggest loss since April 18, 2024 on Tuesday. They came up short against Monacan, falling 11-1. The loss was the Cavaliers' first of the season.

Clover Hill saw three different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Lucas Rose, who scored a run and stole a base while going 1-for-2.

Meanwhile, Cosby had to kick off their season on the road on Tuesday, but they showed no ill effects. They came out on top in a nail-biter against Powhatan, sneaking past 6-5. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest victory the Titans have posted against the Indians since April 19, 2022.

Clover Hill's defeat ended a five-game streak of wins at home dating back to last season and dropped them to 2-1. They've dominated over that stretch too, winning by an average of 7 runs. As for Cosby, with the win, they broke their three-game losing streak and moved their record to 1-0.

Clover Hill came out on top in a nail-biter against Cosby in their previous meeting back in May of 2024, sneaking past 5-4. Will Clover Hill repeat their success, or does Cosby have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
