Baseball Recap: Crawford County Comes Up Short

Crawford County extended their losing streak to 19 on Thursday, dropping them down to 3-20. They came up short against the Paoli Rams, falling 10-0. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Rams this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 9-2 back in April.

As for Paoli, they are on a roll lately: they've won six of their last seven matchups. That's provided a nice bump to their 12-7 record this season. Those wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 7.4 runs over those games.

For Paoli's part, the team relied heavily on Tyler Hannon, who got on base in all three of his plate appearances with two stolen bases, two runs, and two RBI. Another player making a difference was Carter Vernon, who went 1-for-2 with one triple, two RBI, and one run.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Crawford County will welcome Mitchell at 5:30 p.m. on Monday. As for Paoli, they will host Washington at 5:30 p.m. on Monday. The Rams' pitchers better be ready for this one: the Hatchets have averaged an impressive 6.2 runs per game this season.
