Volleyball Recap: Chincoteague Starts Season with Defeat at Home + How To Watch

Chincoteague unfortunately couldn't capitalize on their home-court advantage in their season opener. They lost 3-0 to the Broadwater Academy Vikings on Wednesday. The Ponies have struggled against the Vikings recently, as the game was their fourth consecutive lost matchup.

Chincoteague took the loss but they managed to make steady progress, increasing their score in every set they played. The final score came out to 25-5, 25-7, 25-10.

Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Broadwater Academy to victory, but perhaps none more so than Carly Williams, who had eight aces and three blocks. Those eight aces gave Williams a new career-high. Caroline Caison was another key player, getting 16 assists and five aces.

Broadwater Academy now has a winning record of 2-1.

Looking ahead, Chincoteague will square off against Greenbrier Christian Academy at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday. As for Broadwater Academy, they will challenge Portsmouth Christian at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday.
