Softball Recap: Thursday's Win Is Shea's Seventh in Last Eight Outings

Shea came out on top against Classical on Thursday thanks in part to the team's impressive 12-run second inning. The Raiders blew past the Purple 13-3. The Raiders might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won ten matches by six runs or more this season.

Taylor Kane spent all six innings played on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered only one earned (and two unearned) runs on three hits and racked up 13 Ks.

On the hitting side, Laurel Christian was a standout: she went 2-for-3 with two stolen bases, two runs, and two RBI. Another player making a difference was Gianna Quinones, who went 2-for-4 with four RBI, one triple, and one run.

Shea has been performing incredibly well recently as they've won seven of their last eight games. That's provided a massive bump to their 11-9 record this season. The wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 15.5 runs over those games. As for Classical, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 11-6.

As of now, neither Shea nor the Purple have any future games scheduled.
