The Avon Grove Red Devils will head out to face off against the Bayard Rustin Golden Knights at 4:00 p.m. on Friday. Avon Grove is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 7 runs per game this season.

Avon Grove took a loss when they played away from home on Monday, but their home fans gave them all the motivation they needed on Wednesday. Everything went their way against East as they made off with a 14-3 win. The high-flying hitting performance was a huge turnaround for the Red Devils considering their one-run performance the contest before.

Devin Rinker tossed a big game, tossing five innings while giving up just two earned (and one unearned) runs off three hits.

On the hitting side, Myles Raymond was a standout: he scored two runs while getting on base in all four of his plate appearances. The team also got some help courtesy of Logan Nelson, who scored two runs and stole a base while getting on base in all four of his plate appearances.

Avon Grove always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .647. The last time their OBP was this high was since the start of last season.

Meanwhile, while Bayard Rustin put up some runs on Friday, the same can't be said for Downingtown East. The Golden Knights came out on top in a nail-biter against the Cougars, sneaking past 1-0. The victory made it back-to-back wins for the Golden Knights.

Not much got past JP Hoffmayer, who gave up just three hits to keep Downingtown East off the board.

At the plate, the team relied heavily on David McClain, who went 2-for-3 with one home run and one double.

Bayard Rustin now has a winning record of 2-1. As for Avon Grove, the victory got them back to even at 4-4.

Avon Grove skirted past Bayard Rustin 5-4 in their previous meeting back in April of 2024. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Red Devils since the team won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
