Recap: Summit Tigers vs. Coal Ridge Titans
Even though the Coal Ridge Titans scored an imposing 60 points on Friday, the Summit Tigers still came out on top. Summit secured a 65-60 W over Coal Ridge. With that victory, Summit brought their scoring average up to 50.5 points per game.
Emilio Jain continued his habit of posting crazy stat lines, scoring 15 points along with five rebounds and two steals. Eduardo Gutierrez was another key contributor, scoring 17 points along with five rebounds.
Despite the loss, Coal Ridge still got an impressive performance from Ben Simons, who scored 14 points along with nine rebounds and two steals. Simons is on a roll when it comes to rebounds, as he's now pulled down eight or more in the last four games he's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Alex Cornejo, who scored ten points along with five rebounds.
The win got Summit back to even at 4-4. As for Coal Ridge, their defeat dropped their record down to 5-5.
Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Summit won't have much time to rest: their next contest is against Aspen at 5:00 p.m. on January 13th. One thing working in Aspen's favor is that they have posted big point totals in their last five matchups. Coal Ridge won't have much time to rest: their next matchup is against Delta at 4:30 p.m. on January 13th. Hopefully Delta focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 17 on Friday.
