Baseball Game Preview: Pinon Eagles vs. Coronado Dons

The Pinon Eagles will take on the Coronado Dons in a tournament on Friday. Having both just faced considerable losses, both teams are looking to turn things around.

Pinon is coming home looking for redemption after taking a loss in their road opener. They came up short against Page on Wednesday, falling 22-1. The defeat continues a trend for the Eagles in their matchups with the Sand Devils: they've now lost three in a row.

Meanwhile, Coronado was not able to break out of their rough patch on Thursday as the team picked up their seventh straight loss dating back to last season. They lost 14-6 to Chandler Prep.

Coronado saw five different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Alexander Bustamante, who scored a run while going 2-for-2. What's more, Bustamante posted two doubles, the most he's had since back in March of 2024.
