Baseball Game Preview: Bishop Kenny Crusaders vs. Atlantic Coast Stingrays

The Bishop Kenny Crusaders will venture away from home to square off against the Atlantic Coast Stingrays at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Atlantic Coast took a loss in their last matchup and will be looking to turn the tables on Bishop Kenny, who comes in off a win.

Bishop Kenny is headed in fresh off scoring the most runs they have all season. They walked away with an 11-7 win over Neumann on Friday. The team's explosion at the plate also rewarded the Crusaders with their most commanding win of the season.

Bishop Kenny let Chase McLauchlin and Riley Quevedo run wild. McLauchlin scored a run while going 1-for-3, while Quevedo scored a run while going 1-for-1. The dominant performance also gave Quevedo a new career-high in RBI (two). Timmy Pellicer also deserves some recognition as he scored his first run of the season.

Bishop Kenny always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .528. That's the best OBP they've posted all season.

Meanwhile, Atlantic Coast was not able to break out of their rough patch on Friday as the team picked up their fourth straight loss. They might be feeling deja-vu: they lost 10-0 to Windermere, which was the same score (and result) they got the week prior.

The victory made it two in a row for Bishop Kenny and bumps their season record up to 3-12. Those wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered a grand total of 7 runs in those games. As for Atlantic Coast, they now have a losing record of 8-9.

Bishop Kenny took their victory against Atlantic Coast in their previous matchup back in April of 2024 by a conclusive 10-0. The rematch might be a little tougher for Bishop Kenny since the squad won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
