Softball Recap: Center Point Comes Up Short

Center Point was not able to break out of their rough patch on Friday as the team picked up their sixth straight defeat. They came up short against the Goldthwaite Eagles, falling 19-2. The result was an unpleasant reminder to the Pirates of the 23-2 loss they experienced in the pair's previous head-to-head fixture back in April of 2024.

Center Point saw seven different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Bailey Bolton, who went a perfect 1-for-1 with one double and one RBI. Cobee Beckerson was another, scoring a run while going 2-for-2.

Even though they lost, Center Point always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .824. That's the best OBP they've posted all season.

Center Point's defeat dropped their record down to 4-9. As for Goldthwaite, their victory bumped their record up to 3-8.

The teams didn't have to wait long for a rematch: Goldthwaite beat Center Point by a score of 31-0 on Tuesday.
