Basketball Recap: Brentwood Academy Comes Up Short

Brentwood Academy lost against Pope John Paul II back in February of 2024 and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Tuesday. The Brentwood Academy Eagles lost to the Pope John Paul II Knights at home by a 67-53 margin. While losing is never fun, the Eagles can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Tennessee basketball rankings (they are ranked 49th, while the Knights are ranked second).

Pope John Paul II got their victory on the backs of several key players, but it was Kamden Days out in front who went 11 of 15 on his way to 28 points and five boards. The game was Days' third in a row with at least ten points. The team also got some help courtesy of Trey Pearson, who went 6 for 14 en route to 12 points in addition to eight assists and six rebounds.

Brentwood Academy's loss dropped their record down to 10-8. As for Pope John Paul II, they are on a roll lately: they've won 11 of their last 12 matches, which provided a nice bump to their 17-2 record this season.

Brentwood Academy has already played their next contest (against Lipscomb Academy), but no score has been uploaded at the time of writing. Pope John Paul II has already played their next game, a 74-40 win against Christ Presbyterian Academy on the 15th.
