Recap: Powers Cruisers vs. McKenzie Eagles
After having lost a blowout in their previous game against Mapleton, the Powers Cruisers were happy to have found some success on Friday. They walked away with a 41-30 win over McKenzie.
When it comes to explaining why McKenzie lost, one person who can't be blamed is Griffin Withalm. Despite the final result, he scored 15 points along with 4 steals. Another player making a difference was Will Meister, who scored 6 points along with 6 rebounds.
The win got Powers back to even at 1-1. As for McKenzie, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 0-2.
Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Powers' road trip will continue as they head out to face Lewis Academy at 2:00 p.m. on December 2nd. The matchup should be an exciting one, as these teams are ranked near one another in Oregon (Lewis Academy is ranked 17th, while Powers is ranked 25th). As for McKenzie, they will head out on the road to face off against Yoncalla at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Yoncalla comes in still looking for their first win of the season.
