Softball Recap: Collinsville Takes a Loss

After flying high against Cahokia on Monday, Collinsville came back down to earth. The Kahoks lost 14-1 to the Granite City Warriors on Tuesday. The loss continues a trend for the Kahoks in their meetings with the Warriors: they've now lost three in a row.

Collinsville saw six different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Lilly Paarlberg, who went a perfect 2-for-2 with two stolen bases and one run.

Collinsville's defeat dropped their record down to 7-17. As for Granite City, their win bumped their record up to 9-16.

Looking ahead, Collinsville will venture away from home to face off against East St. Louis at 4:30 p.m. on Wednesday. The Kahoks are facing the Flyers at the right time seeing as the Flyers are stuck on a 17-game losing streak. As for Granite City, they will face off against Waterloo at 4:30 p.m. on Wednesday. The timing isn't great for the Warriors: they have been struggling with four straight losses at home, while the Bulldogs have snatched up six consecutive wins on the road.
