Softball Recap: Lapeer Takes a Loss

Lapeer was the 15-12 winner over North Branch when they last played one another back in April of 2018, but their luck changed this time around. The Lightning fell just short of the Broncos by a score of 7-5 on Friday.

Lynden Jelneck made the most of her time at bat despite the final result and went 2-for-3 with two stolen bases and two RBI. The team also got some help courtesy of Breana Fantin, who went 2-for-3 with one stolen base and one run.

Lapeer has been struggling recently as they've lost four of their last five matches. That's put a noticeable dent in their 10-18 record this season. As for North Branch, the win got them back to even at 2-2-1.

Looking ahead, North Branch will host Lapeer East at 4:00 p.m. on Friday. Lapeer will be paying especially close attention to the Broncos' game: after the Broncos face off against the Eagles, they'll take on Lapeer again at 6:00 p.m. on Friday.
