Basketball Recap: Cardinal Starts Season with Loss at Home

Cardinal unfortunately couldn't capitalize on their home-court advantage in their season opener. They lost 54-28 to the LaBrae Vikings on Friday. The Huskies haven't had much luck with the Vikings recently, as the team has come up short the last six times they've met.

Cardinal lost despite a true team effort on offense. The best among them was Ivy Kaminski, who posted 11 points in addition to five rebounds and five steals. The team also got some help courtesy of Natalie Hardin, who earned seven points.

Coming up, Cardinal will head out on the road to challenge Kirtland at 6:15 p.m. on Monday. As for LaBrae, they will look to take advantage of their home court for the first time this season as they take on Crestwood at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
