Softball Recap: Mcclain Has No Trouble Against Fairfield Union

McClain had to skate by with only a one-run margin when they last took the field, which might have inspired the 15-run drubbing they dealt Fairfield Union on Tuesday. McClain blew past Fairfield Union 19-4. The Tigers not only won on Tuesday, but they posted their biggest win since April 3, 2024.

Brie Cummins was incredible, firing off two home runs, eight RBI, and three runs while going 4-for-5. Those two home runs gave her a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Lindsey Hutchinson, who scored three runs and stole a base while going 2-for-3.

McClain's win bumped their record up to 2-0. As for Fairfield Union, they are on a five-game losing streak (dating back to last season) that has dropped them down to 0-3.

Coming up, McClain will challenge Jackson at 5:00 p.m. on Monday. As for Fairfield Union, they will head out to face off against West Muskingum at 5:00 p.m. on Friday.
