Basketball Game Preview: Ponderosa Bruins vs. Cosumnes Oaks Wolfpack

Ponderosa is 2-7 against Cosumnes Oaks since January of 2015 but they'll have a chance to close the gap a little bit on Saturday. The Ponderosa Bruins are taking a road trip to square off against the Cosumnes Oaks Wolfpack at 7:00 p.m. One thing working in Ponderosa's favor is that they have posted at least 55 points every time they've taken the court this season.

Ponderosa is headed into the game after thoroughly thrashing River City: they outscored them in every quarter. Given that consistent dominance, it should come as no surprise that Ponderosa blew River City out of the water with an 80-34 final score. The Bruins have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won six matches by 35 points or more this season.

Meanwhile, Cosumnes Oaks came up short against Kennedy on Monday and fell 59-49. The Wolfpack haven't had much luck with the Cougars recently, as the team's come up short the last two times they've met.

Ponderosa's win was their tenth straight on the road dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 10-0. The wins came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 64.5 points per game. As for Cosumnes Oaks, their loss dropped their record down to 6-3.

Ponderosa came up short against Cosumnes Oaks in their previous matchup back in December of 2023, falling 48-42. Thankfully for Ponderosa, Isabel Tan (who dropped a double-double on 19 points and ten boards) won't be suiting up this time. Will that be enough to change the final result?
