Basketball Game Preview: Oak Ridge Trojans vs. Franklin Wildcats

The Oak Ridge Trojans will venture away from home to challenge the Franklin Wildcats at 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday. Expect the scorekeeper to be kept busy: if their previous games are any indication, the two teams will really light up the scoreboard.

Last Friday, Oak Ridge ended up a good deal behind Folsom and lost 74-56. The Trojans have struggled against the Bulldogs recently, as the game was their sixth consecutive lost matchup.

Meanwhile, Franklin came up short against Monterey Trail on Friday and fell 62-55.

Oak Ridge will have to contain Aiden Rollins as he made an impact in Franklin's last game. He went 9-for-19 on his way to 23 points and five boards. The contest was Rollins' third in a row with at least 17 points. The team also got some help courtesy of Benjamin Sandy, who posted nine points.

Oak Ridge's defeat dropped their record down to 17-9. As for Franklin, their loss dropped their record down to 22-6.

Oak Ridge was able to grind out a solid victory over Franklin when the teams last played back in December of 2024, winning 66-53. Will Oak Ridge repeat their success, or does Franklin have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
