Baseball Game Preview: Langham Creek Lobos vs. Cypress Ranch Mustangs

Langham Creek is 0-10 against Cypress Ranch since March of 2019 but things could change on Tuesday. The Lobos will host the Mustangs at 7:00 p.m. Cypress Ranch took a loss in their last match and will be looking to turn the tables on Langham Creek, who comes in off a win.

On Thursday, Langham Creek made easy work of Cypress Lakes and carried off a 7-1 win. The victory continues a trend for the Lobos in their matchups with the Spartans: they've now won four in a row.

Caden Thomas made a splash while hitting and pitching. On the mound, he tossed 3.1 innings while giving up no earned runs or hits. What's more, he posted five strikeouts, the most he's had since back in March. He was also solid in the batter's box, going 2-for-4 with one stolen base and one RBI. He has been hot recently, having posted at least one stolen base the last three times he's played.

In other batting news, Jayce Coto was incredible, going 2-for-3 with three RBI, one triple, and one stolen base. He has become a key player for Langham Creek: the team is 2-1 when he posts at least three RBI, but 10-15 otherwise. The team also got some help courtesy of Jacob Fliehler, who went 1-for-3 with one stolen base, one run, and one double.

Meanwhile, Cypress Ranch didn't have quite enough to beat Bridgeland on Thursday and fell 8-7.

Cypress Ranch's loss ended a ten-game streak of away wins dating back to last season and brought them to 22-5-1. As for Langham Creek, their win bumped their record up to 12-16.

Langham Creek couldn't quite get it done against Cypress Ranch when the teams last played back in April of 2024 as they fell 7-4. Can the Lobos avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
