Baseball Recap: Kentucky Country Day Wins Going Away Against Fairdale

Kentucky Country Day won the last time they faced Fairdale and things went their way on Wednesday too. The Bearcats were the clear victors by a 20-9 margin over the Bulldogs. The result was nothing new for the Bearcats, who have now won six matchups by ten runs or more so far this season.

Brohm Garlove and Brady Butler made a big impact while hitting and pitching. Throwing, Garlove tossed 2.2 innings while giving up no earned runs off four hits. Meanwhile, Butler pitched two innings while giving up no earned runs off two hits. He has been consistent: he hasn't given up more than two walks in seven consecutive appearances. At the plate, Garlove got on base in four of his six plate appearances with three runs, one stolen base, and one RBI, while Butler got on base in four of his six plate appearances with three runs and one double. Butler is becoming a predictor of Kentucky Country Day's success: when he posts at least two runs the team is undefeated (and 5-6 when he doesn't).

In other batting news, Carter Jones and Isaac Miller did most of the damage at the plate: Jones got on base in four of his six plate appearances with three RBI, one stolen base, and one run, while Miller went 4-for-6 with three runs and two RBI. Kentucky Country Day is undefeated when Miller posts two or more runs, but 3-6 otherwise. The team also got some help courtesy of Colin Moriarty, who went 1-for-5 with two runs and two RBI.

Kentucky Country Day was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .425. They are a perfect 5-0 when they post a batting average of .375 or better.

Kentucky Country Day's record is now 8-6. As for Fairdale, they have been struggling recently as they've lost 11 of their last 14 contests. That's put a noticeable dent in their 7-15 record this season.

Kentucky Country Day is taking a road trip to challenge Holy Cross at 5:30 p.m. on Thursday. As for Fairdale, they will welcome Bullitt East at 6:00 p.m. on Monday.
