Basketball Recap: Abby Sagan's Big Game Can't Quite Lead Bishop Rosecrans over Fairfield Christian Academy

Bishop Rosecrans lost against Fairfield Christian Academy last Friday and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Monday. The game between the Bishop Rosecrans Bishops and the Fairfield Christian Academy Knights didn't end well, with the Bishop Rosecrans Bishops falling 63-45.

Bishop Rosecrans' loss came despite a true team effort with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Abby Sagan, who posted 21 points. That was a full 46.7% of Bishop Rosecrans' points, marking the third time in a row she's scored more than a third of the team's points. Malorie Crooks was another key player, putting up 13 points.

Bishop Rosecrans has traveled a rocky road recently having lost 11 of their last 14 matches, which has put a noticeable dent in their 6-14 record this season. As for Fairfield Christian Academy, the win was the fifth in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 17-4.

Bishop Rosecrans does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Fairfield Christian Academy, they will be taking part in a tournament against Ridgedale at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. Fairfield Christian Academy knows how to get points on the board -- the team has finished with 55 points or more in their past five contests -- so hopefully Ridgedale likes a good challenge.
