Preview: West Caldwell Warriors vs. East Burke Cavaliers
West Caldwell is on an 11-game streak of home losses (dating back to last season), East Burke a seven-game streak of away losses, but someone's luck is about to change. The West Caldwell Warriors will take on the East Burke Cavaliers at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. Having both just faced considerable losses, both teams are looking to turn things around.
It's never fun to lose, and it's even less fun to lose 54-7, which was the final score in West Caldwell's tilt against Bandys on Thursday. While losing is never fun, West Caldwell can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' North Carolina football rankings (they are ranked 359th, while Bandys is ranked 150th).
Meanwhile, East Burke fell victim to West Lincoln's stalwart defense on Thursday and couldn't make it onto the board. They suffered a tough 26-0 defeat at the hands of the Rebels. The last quarter was a mere formality, since the game's final score was reached by the end of the third quarter.
The losses dropped West Caldwell to 0-9 and East Burke to 2-7.
Things could have been worse for West Caldwell, but things could have been a whole lot better as they took a 42-27 loss to East Burke in their previous matchup back in October of 2022. Will West Caldwell have more luck at home instead of on the road?
