Baseball Game Preview: Haltom Buffalos vs. Grand Prairie Gophers

Haltom took a seven-run defeat the last time they faced off against Lamar, but this time they managed to keep it close and that made all the difference. Haltom sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with a 6-4 victory over Lamar on Friday. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest win the Buffalos have posted since February 28th.

Haltom saw five different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Enrique Meza, who scored a run while going 2-for-4.

Meanwhile, Grand Prairie fell victim to Martin and their airtight pitching crew on Friday. They came up short against the Warriors, falling 11-0. The Gophers have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Grand Prairie's loss dropped their record down to 2-13. As for Haltom, their victory bumped their record up to 13-6.

Grand Prairie's pitching crew has a crucial task ahead of them: Haltom hasn't had any issues making contact this season, having earned a batting average of .320. It's a different story for Grand Prairie, though, as they've only averaged .244. Will they be able to contain Haltom's hitters?
