Basketball Recap: Newton Falls Starts Season with Loss on the Road

Newton Falls had to hit the road for their first game and it wasn't the result they were hoping for. They received a blow on Wednesday as they fell 68-50 to the Ravenna Ravens. Give some credit to the fans of both teams: the last four times they've met, the home team has come away the winner.

Newton Falls' loss came despite a true team effort with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Phil Davis, who shot 55% from the field to rack up 17 points. Dallas Dunlap was another key player, putting up ten points in addition to five boards and three steals.

Newton Falls has already played their next game, a 73-43 win against Windham on the 3rd. Ravenna has also already played their next contest (against Norton), but no score has been uploaded at the time of writing.
