Basketball Recap: Fort Plain Comes Up Short

After flying high against Cherry Valley-Springfield last Monday, Fort Plain came back down to earth. The Fort Plain Hilltoppers had to suffer through a 64-32 loss at the hands of the Fonda-Fultonville Valley Hawks. The Hilltoppers have struggled against the Valley Hawks recently, as the game was their eighth consecutive lost matchup.

Fort Plain's defeat came despite a true team effort from the offense, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Dylan Keane, who posted ten points. Another player making a difference was Landon VanGorder, who put up eight points.

Fort Plain's loss dropped their record down to 9-8. As for Fonda-Fultonville, the victory (which was their seventh in a row) raised their record to 12-3.

Fort Plain has already played their next match (against Schoharie), but no score has been uploaded at the time of writing. Fonda-Fultonville will look to defend their home court on Friday against Coxsackie-Athens at 7:00 p.m.
