Softball Recap: Barton Bears vs. Des Arc Eagles        
        
		
            
 Sadly, Barton is still looking for their first win of the season after 14  matches. They might be feeling deja-vu: they lost  15-0 to the Des Arc Eagles, which was the same score (and result) they got the week prior. The result was an unpleasant reminder to Barton of the  15-0 defeat they experienced in the pair's previous head-to-head fixture  back in March.
 For Des Arc's part,  Kaylee McDonald was a major factor while hitting and pitching. She looked comfortable on the mound,   striking out nine batters over  three innings while giving up   no  earned runs or  hits (and not a single walk). McDonald has been consistent recently: she hasn't  tossed less than six  strikeouts in 19 consecutive pitching appearances. McDonald was also big at the plate,  scoring a  run while going 1-for-3.
 In other batting news,  Makenzie Williams was  incredible,  going 2-for-2 with a  home run, three  RBI,  and two  runs.  Kymber Buckner was another key contributor,  scoring two  runs while going 2-for-3.
 Barton's loss dropped their record down to 0-14. As for Des Arc, the  victory was  the seventh in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 18-4.
 Both  squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Barton will  face off against McGehee at 4:30  p.m.  on Thursday. McGehee will be hoping to continue their three-game streak of scoring more  runs each  game than the last. As for Des Arc, they are on the road again  on Thursday to play Palestine-Wheatley at 4:30  p.m. Both teams will come into the  contest having just posted big wins, so someone is set to suffer a big change in fortunes.
