            Baseball Recap: Northside Mustangs vs. Mather Rangers        
        
		
        
        
            While Northside's  victory against Mather wasn't quite the blowout it was the last time the pair played, they still came out on top. The Mustangs had just enough and edged out the Rangers  3-2 on Friday. The Mustangs haven't had any issues with the Rangers recently, as the game was their third consecutive  win against them.

 Rowan Yen was a major factor while hitting and pitching. On the mound, he  struck out 11 batters over  seven innings while giving up just one earned  (and one unearned) run off   three  hits (and only one walk). Those  11  strikeouts gave  him a new career-high. He was also big at the plate,  going 2-for-4 with one  double and one  RBI.
 Yen wasn't  the only one making solid contact as  four players wound up with at least one hit. One of them was  Elliot Weihing, who  scored two  runs while going 2-for-3. That's the most  hits  Weihing has posted since back in April of 2024.  Rowan Dragovic was another,  going 3-for-4 with two  RBI.
Northside now  has a winning record of 6-5. As for Mather,  this is the second loss in a row for them and  nudges their season record down to 3-2.
 Looking ahead, Mather will look to defend their home field  on Saturday against Disney II  at 2:00  p.m. Northside will be paying especially close attention to the Rangers'  matchup: after the Rangers faces off against the Titans, they'll take on Northside again  at 4:30  p.m.  on Monday.
