Baseball Recap: Sullivan Comes Up Short

Sullivan started off well but failed to capitalize on an early lead against Villa Grove. They fell just short of the Blue Devils by a score of 5-4 on Thursday. The Redskins were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Blue Devils apparently hadn't forgotten their defeat the last time these teams played back in April of 2024.

Sullivan saw four different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Schafer Ogle, who went 2-for-3 with one double. Kolton Wiley also deserves some recognition as he scored his first run of the season.

Sullivan's loss was their third straight on the road, which dropped their record down to 1-8. As for Villa Grove, their record is now 3-5.

Coming up, Sullivan will head out to square off against Warrensburg-Latham at 4:30 p.m. on Friday. The Cardinals will roll in looking for their tenth straight victory, something the Redskins surely won't give up without a fight. As for Villa Grove, they will be playing at home against St. Teresa at 4:30 p.m. on Friday.
