Union had already won five in a row and they went ahead and made it six on Tuesday. Their defense stepped up to hand the Enid Plainsmen a 1-0 shutout. The final result isn't all the surprising considering Union's considerable advantage in MaxPreps' Oklahoma soccer rankings (they are ranked second, while Enid are ranked 79th).

Union's victory bumped their record up to 8-1. As for Enid, they have traveled a rocky road recently, having lost six of their last seven games. That's put a noticeable dent in their 2-8-2 record this season.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Union will host Grant at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. Grant's last six matchups have been decided by no more than a goal, so don't be surprised if it's a close one. As for Enid, they will be playing in front of their home fans against Sapulpa at 7:30 p.m. on Friday.
