Grayling is 6-1 against Cheboygan since March of 2015 and they'll have a chance to extend that success on Friday. The Grayling Vikings will head out to square off against the Cheboygan Chiefs at 7:00 p.m. Given that the two teams suffered a loss in their last games, they both have a little extra motivation heading into this game.

Grayling is probably headed into the matchup with a chip on their shoulder considering Harbor Springs just ended the team's three-game winning streak on Tuesday. They took a 54-38 bruising from the Rams. While losing is never fun, the Vikings can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Michigan basketball rankings (they are ranked 179th, while the Rams are ranked 42nd).

Cheboygan has been a dominant force so far, but they're in the middle of a mini-slump at the moment. They were three points away from ending the streak, but they lost a 53-50 heartbreaker at the hands of Elk Rapids. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest defeat the Chiefs have suffered since January 5, 2024.

Grayling's loss ended a seven-game streak of wins at home dating back to last season and dropped them to 5-3. As for Cheboygan, their defeat dropped their record down to 6-2.

Grayling was able to grind out a solid win over Cheboygan when the teams last played back in January of 2024, winning 54-44. The rematch might be a little tougher for Grayling since the squad won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
