Basketball Recap: Portage Central Takes a Loss

Portage Central was the 76-68 winner over Kalamazoo Central when they last played one another back in March of 2024, but their luck changed this time around. The Portage Central Mustangs took a 75-58 bruising from the Kalamazoo Central Maroon Giants on Tuesday. While losing is never fun, the Mustangs can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Michigan basketball rankings (they are ranked 272nd, while the Maroon Giants are ranked 38th).

Portage Central has been struggling recently as they've lost five of their last six contests, which put a noticeable dent in their 5-7 record this season. As for Kalamazoo Central, the win made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 8-1.

Portage Central will be playing at home against Lakeshore at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. As for Kalamazoo Central, they will venture away from home to challenge St. Joseph at 7:00 p.m. on Friday.
