Baseball Recap: Troy's Winning Streak Snapped at Three Games

Troy dropped their record down to 9-9 on Thursday, which also ended the team's three-game streak of wins. They fell 10-7 to the Mohonasen Warriors. The Flying Horses were not able to repeat the success they had when they faced the Warriors earlier this season, when they won 6-5.

Jack Fraser was cooking despite his team's loss, going 2-for-4 with two runs and one RBI. He has become a key player for Troy: the team is 4-1 when he posts at least two runs, but 5-8 otherwise. Another player making a difference was Tyler Dickinson, who went 2-for-3 with two runs and one RBI.

As for Mohonasen, they have been performing well recently as they've won three of their last four matches. That's provided a nice bump to their 9-7 record this season. The high-scoring effort was just what they needed considering they were shut out in their previous contest.

On Mohonasen's side, Nic Quinlivan spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: he surrendered seven runs (all of which were unearned) on nine hits and racked up six Ks. Quinlivan has been nothing but reliable: he hasn't given up more than two walks in seven consecutive appearances.

On the hitting side, AJ Crux was incredible, going 3-for-4 with three runs, two doubles, and one stolen base. Those three runs gave him a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Daniel Corsoro, who went 1-for-4 with two runs, one stolen base, and two RBI.

Coming up, Troy will look to defend their home field on Thursday against Albany Academy for Boys at 4:00 p.m. The Flying Horses are facing the Cadets at the right time seeing as the Cadets are stuck on a three-game losing streak. As for Mohonasen, they have already played their next game, a 13-0 victory against Schenectady on the 17th.
