Baseball Recap: Benson Comes Up Short

Benson was the 5-4 winner over Round Valley when they last played one another back in March of 2023, but their luck changed this time around. The Bobcats fell 8-3 to the Elks on Wednesday.

Benson saw six different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Rawley Evans, who went 1-for-3 with two runs and one double. Evans is becoming a predictor of the Bobcats' success: when he posts at least two runs the team is 7-1 (and 6-11-1 when he doesn't).

Benson's defeat dropped their record down to 13-12-1. As for Round Valley, their victory was their fourth straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 14-7.

Benson has already played their next contest, a 4-3 loss against Bisbee on the 25th. As for Round Valley, they also wasted no time getting back out on the field and have already played their next match, a 10-4 win against St. Johns on the 25th.
