 When it comes to explaining why Whitmer lost, don't look at  Jaden Jones. Despite the final result, he rushed for 209 yards and two  touchdowns while picking up 8.7 yards per carry. The team also got some help courtesy of  Brandon Waddell, who picked up 71 receiving yards and one  score.
  Landon Echelberry went supernova For Clay., rushing for 85 yards and one  TD, while also throwing for 200 yards and a pair of  touchdowns. Their leading receiver  Brodi Ostrander was  Echelberry's top target yet again, picking up 50 receiving yards and a pair of  scores.
Whitmer's  loss was their first in the conference, dropping their conference record down to 3-1 and their overall record down to 7-2. As for Clay, they now  have a winning record of 5-4.
 Whitmer has already played their next matchup,  a  35-3  victory against Perrysburg on the 24th. As for Clay, they also didn't take long to hit the field again: they've already played their next  contest,  a  48-7  win against Northview on the 24th.
