Elk Rapids entered their tilt with Reed City on Saturday with four consecutive wins, and they'll enter their next game with five. They sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with a 6-4 win over the Coyotes. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest victory the Elks have posted since April 10th.

Elk Rapids pushed their record up to 6-5 with the win, which was their sixth straight at home dating back to last season. Those home victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 1.5 runs on average over those games. As for Reed City, they are on a nine-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 1-14.

Reed City wasted no time getting back out on the field and has already played their next game, a 4-0 win against Benzie Central on the 10th. Hopefully Elk Rapids paid attention to the Coyotes' contest: the next time they hit the field, they'll take on the Coyotes at 9:00 p.m. on Saturday.
