Basketball Recap: Masterman Comes Up Short

Masterman played a tough contest on Thursday in which they were outscored in every quarter. They came up short against the Franklin Towne Warriors, falling 59-33. Masterman's defeat continues a trend for the squad, making it four in a row.

Franklin Towne's win was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Joel Lawson, who went 6 for 10 en route to 13 points. The dominant performance gave Lawson a new career-high in points. The team also got some help courtesy of Jayden Quattrone, who posted 13 points.

Masterman's loss dropped their record down to 4-11. As for Franklin Towne, their victory was their third straight at home, which pushed their record up to 9-9.

Masterman will face off against Belmont Charter at 3:15 p.m. on Tuesday. Belmont Charter will roll in looking for their fifth straight win, something Masterman surely won't give up without a fight. As for Franklin Towne, they and Olney will face off at 3:15 p.m. on Friday without much rest having both just played. Olney knows how to get points on the board -- the team has finished with 55 points or more in their past four matches -- so hopefully Franklin Towne likes a good challenge.
