Preview: Bluegrass United Bluehawks vs. Nicholas County Bluejackets
The Bluegrass United Bluehawks will head out on the road to face off against the Nicholas County Bluejackets at 7:30 p.m. on Thursday. One thing working in Bluegrass United's favor is that they have posted big point totals in their last six matchups.
Bluegrass United suffered their closest defeat yet this season on Monday. They fell just short of Garrard County by a score of 62-60. Having run the score up that high, both teams probably have some extra defensive drills coming up.
Despite the loss, Bluegrass United got a solid performance out of Caleb Burnett, who scored 30 points along with five steals. Burnett is on a roll when it comes to points, as he's now scored 15 or more in the last four games he's played. Sammy King was another key contributor, scoring 19 points along with six rebounds and two steals.
Meanwhile, Nicholas County pushed their score all the way to 60 last Wednesday, but even that wasn't enough to win. They fell 70-60 to Bourbon County. Nicholas County just can't catch a break and has now endured three losses in a row.
Bluegrass United's loss dropped their record down to 11-10. As for Nicholas County, they dropped their record down to 8-10 with that defeat, which was their third straight on the road.
