Football Recap: Widefield Takes a Loss + How To Watch

Widefield extended their losing streak to three on Friday, dropping them down to 2-6. They took a blow against the Pueblo West Cyclones, falling 51-0. While losing is never fun, the Gladiators can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Colorado football rankings (they are ranked 121st, while the Cyclones are ranked 30th).

Cayden Elledge threw for 32 yards on nine of 14 attempts.

As for Pueblo West, they are on a roll lately: they've won four of their last five matchups. That's provided a nice bump to their 6-2 record this season. Their offense stepped up their game for this one, as that was the most points they've scored all season.

Pueblo West can attribute much of their success to Zach Duran, who rushed for 32 yards and two TDs. That's the most rushing touchdowns Duran has posted since back in November of 2024.

We've got plenty of inter-league action coming up soon. Widefield is set to challenge their familiar foe Montrose at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. Meanwhile, Pueblo West will face off against rival Falcon at 1:00 p.m. on Saturday.
