Baseball Recap: Miller Comes Up Short

Miller had lost nine straight at home, but on Monday they dropped down to 5-21 to make it ten. They came up short against the Flour Bluff Hornets, falling 21-1. If the Buccaneers were looking for revenge after losing 14-1 to the Hornets when the teams met back in April of 2025, then they'll just have to keep looking.

Miller saw three different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Davian Jacquez, who went 1-for-2 with one stolen base and one run.

As for Flour Bluff, they are on a roll lately: they've won eight of their last ten contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 21-8-1 record this season. Their hitters stepped up their game for this one, as that was the most runs they've scored all season.

On Flour Bluff's side, Fisher Davis looked comfortable as he pitched two innings while giving up no earned runs or hits. What's more, Davis posted two strikeouts, the most he's had since back in March.

At the plate, Flour Bluff got a massive performance out of Bradley Terry, who got on base in four of his five plate appearances with one home run, two stolen bases, and two runs. Those two stolen bases gave Terry a new career-high. Santiago Sutil was another key player, going a perfect 3-for-3 with two stolen bases, two runs, and two RBI.

While Miller had to take the loss, they won't have to wait long to give it another shot: the pair's next game is a rematch scheduled at 7:00 p.m. on Friday.
