Softball Recap: Eastern Montgomery Find Success

Eastern Montgomery's game last Wednesday was a loss, but they didn't let that memory haunt them on Tuesday. They were the clear victors by a 21-7 margin over the Craig County Rockets. With that win, the Mustangs brought their scoring average up to 6.7 runs per game.

Rena Chandler was a standout: she got on base in all four of her plate appearances with four runs, one triple, and two RBI. Those two RBI gave her a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Macie Akers, who went 3-for-5 with five RBI, three doubles, and one run.

Eastern Montgomery always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .711. That's the best OBP they've posted all season.

Eastern Montgomery's first victory this season bumped their record up to 1-5. As for Craig County, they now have a losing record of 1-2.

Coincidentally, Eastern Montgomery and Craig County will both be playing Bath County the next time they take the field. The Mustangs will head out to face the Chargers at 5:00 p.m. on Thursday, while the Rockets will head out to face them at 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
