Recap: Chase County Longhorns vs. St. Patrick's Irish

The Chase County Longhorns lost against the St. Patrick's Irish back in February of 2023, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Friday. Chase County took a 44-37 hit to the loss column at the hands of St. Patrick's. The loss unfortunately continues a disappointing trend for Chase County in their matchups with St. Patrick's: they've now lost five in a row.

When it comes to explaining why Chase County lost, one person who can't be blamed is Camron Lempke. Despite the final result, he scored 19 points along with six rebounds and two steals. Lempke is trending in the right direction, as he's improved his point production for three games straight. The team also got some help courtesy of Haven Hauxwell, who scored six points.

Chase County's defeat dropped their record down to 9-9. As for St. Patrick's, their victory was their fifth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 14-3.

Chase County will take on Gering at 5:00 p.m. on Saturday. Hopefully Chase County focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up nine on Friday. As for St. Patrick's, they will head out on the road to face off against Cambridge at 4:30 p.m. on Saturday. Cambridge will have to bring their A-game into this one, as they are staring down a pretty big deficit in the MaxPreps Nebraska Rankings (they are ranked 121st, while St. Patrick's is ranked 23rd).
