Baseball Game Preview: Desert Oasis Diamondbacks vs. Spring Valley Grizzlies

The Desert Oasis Diamondbacks will head out to take on the Spring Valley Grizzlies at 3:30 p.m. on Thursday. Neither Desert Oasis nor Spring Valley posted many runs in their last games, so it might be the pitching crews that decide this one.

Desert Oasis took a eight-run defeat the last time they faced off against Arbor View, but this time they managed to keep it close and that made all the difference. The Diamondbacks sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with a 2-1 win over the Aggies on Thursday.

Desert Oasis saw two different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Jayson Marquez, who went 1-for-3 with one triple and one run.

Meanwhile, Spring Valley was not able to break out of their rough patch on Wednesday as the team picked up their 11th straight loss. They came up short against Green Valley, falling 8-2.

Desert Oasis is on a roll lately: they've won six of their last eight contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 16-9 record this season. The victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 3.9 runs on average over those games. As for Spring Valley, their defeat dropped their record down to 7-14-2.

Everything went Desert Oasis' way against Spring Valley in their previous matchup back in May of 2023, as Desert Oasis made off with a 15-5 win. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Diamondbacks since the squad won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
