Baseball Recap: Bakersfield Comes Up Short

Bakersfield was the 8-1 winner over Highland when they last played one another back in April of 2024, but their luck changed this time around. Bakersfield fell just short of Highland by a score of 2-1 on Monday. The Drillers have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Bakersfield saw four different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Luke Meszaros, who went 2-for-4 with one double and one RBI. That double was Meszaros' first of the season.

Bakersfield's loss dropped their record down to 1-8-1. As for Highland, their victory was their fifth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 9-1.

While Bakersfield had to take the loss, they won't have to wait long to give it another shot: the pair's next game is a rematch scheduled at 4:00 p.m. on Wednesday.
