Baseball Recap: Lincoln Lions vs. New Albany Eagles
On Friday Lincoln's undefeated season almost came to an end. They sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with a 6-4 victory over the New Albany Eagles. Six seems to be a good number for the Lions as the team scooped up a win with the same number of runs in their previous game.
Isaiah Sweigard and Trent Bowman dominated on the mound. Sweigard tossed two innings while giving up no earned runs off one hit, while Bowman pitched five innings while giving up just two earned (and two unearned) runs off four hits.
On the hitting side, the team relied heavily on Anthony Pernotto, who got on base in three of his four plate appearances with one home run and three RBI. Pernotto is crushing it when it comes to RBI: he's brought in at least three every time he's taken the field this season. The team also got some help courtesy of Darek Whitfield, who scored two runs and stole two bases while going 1-for-4.
