After losing to Ponderosa the last time they met, Discovery Canyon decided to demonstrate that turnabout is fair play. The Thunder came out on top in a nail-biter against the Mustangs on Friday, sneaking past 6-5. Give some credit to the fans of both teams: the last four times they've met, the home team has come away the winner.

Discovery Canyon let Kaitlyn Chaumont and Bella Holcomb run wild. Chaumont went 2-for-3 with one stolen base, one run, and one RBI, while Holcomb went 3-for-4 with two runs and one RBI. That stolen base was Chaumont's first of the season.

Discovery Canyon's win bumped their record up to 2-4. As for Ponderosa, they are on a seven-game losing streak (dating back to last season) that has dropped them down to 0-6.

Looking ahead, Discovery Canyon will face off against Rock Canyon at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday. As for Ponderosa, they will square off against Valor Christian at 4:00 p.m. on Wednesday. The Mustangs' pitchers better be ready for this one: the Eagles have averaged an impressive 6.2 runs per game this season.
