Basketball Game Preview: Lanesville Eagles vs. Salem Lions

The Lanesville Eagles will challenge the Salem Lions at 7:30 p.m. on Wednesday. The teams are on pretty different trajectories at the moment (Lanesville has seven straight wins, Salem has 18 straight defeats), but none of that matters once you're on the court.

Last Friday, Lanesville strolled past Scottsburg with points to spare, taking the game 43-27.

Meanwhile, Salem played a tough game on Thursday in which they were outscored in every quarter. They were beaten by Austin 67-24. The Lions were in a tough position after the first half, with the score already sitting at 47-16.

Lanesville is on a roll lately: they've won ten of their last 11 contests, which provided a nice bump to their 17-3 record this season. The wins came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 51.8 points per game. As for Salem, their loss dropped their record down to 1-18.

Lanesville didn't have too much breathing room in their matchup against Salem in their previous matchup back in January of 2022, but they still walked away with a 43-37 victory. The rematch might be a little tougher for Lanesville since the team won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
