The Providence School Stallions will venture away from home to square off against the Spruce Creek Hawks at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday. Both come into the game bolstered by wins in their previous matches.
Providence School not only won on Monday, but they posted their biggest win since May 8, 2024. Everything went their way against Hilliard as they made off with an 8-2 victory.

Elle Burns made a splash while hitting and pitching. She didn't allow a single earned run over seven innings pitched. She has been consistent recently: she hasn't given up more than one earned run in three consecutive appearances. She was also big at the plate, firing off two home runs, three runs, and four RBI while going 3-for-4. Those two home runs gave her a new career-high.
In other batting news, Sophia Prather was excellent, scoring a run and stealing a base while getting on base in all four of her plate appearances. Another player making a difference was Summer Stearns, who scored two runs while going 1-for-3.
Providence School lost a few balls and finished the game with two home runs. That's the most home runs they've managed all season.
Meanwhile, Spruce Creek waltzed into their matchup on Tuesday with five straight wins... but they left with six. They came within a single run of losing the streak, but they secured a 2-1 W against the Patriots.
Aubrey Yeary spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered only one earned run on four hits and racked up 13 Ks.
On the hitting side, Spruce Creek's win was truly a team effort as three different players contributed at least one hit. One of them was Reese Cianciarulo, who scored a run while going 2-for-2.
Spruce Creek's victory was their fourth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 10-3. Those home wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 2.0 runs on average over those games. As for Providence School, they have been performing well recently as they've won three of their last four contests. That's provided a massive bump to their 4-6 record this season.
Fans could be in store for some top-tier slugging on Thursday. Providence School hasn't had any problems when it comes to power this season, having averaged 0.5 home runs per game. However, it's not like Spruce Creek struggles in that department as they've been averaging 0.6 home runs. With so much power on both teams, it'll be down to the pitchers to keep the mound locked down.
Providence School couldn't quite get it done against Spruce Creek in their previous matchup back in April of 2024 as they fell 5-1. Can the Stallions avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
